Exceeding the recommended dose or taking this medicine for longer than prescribed may be habit-forming. Before taking the medicine either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This medicine has shown to cause harm to the human fetus.
Possible side effects
Side effects may include excessive daytime drowsiness, unusual weakness, dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, clumsiness, or unsteadiness. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
Storage
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children.
Additional Information
Drinking grapefruit juice while being treated with diazepam is not recommended. If you are already drinking grapefruit juice while being treated with Valium and are experiencing changes in mental awareness, loss of balance, or slurred speech, contact your physician. Taking Valium with food may result in an increased amount of diazepam in your blood. If you take Valium with a high fat meal, you may experience increased drowsiness or decreased concentration. It is recommended to avoid or reduce caffeine at nighttime if you are taking diazepam to help you sleep.
