Directions on how to take
Celexa comes as a tablet taken by mouth. It is usually taken once daily and may be taken with or without food. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take Celexa exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often that prescribed by your doctor. Do not miss any doses. If you miss a dose of this medicine, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Warnings and Precautions
Do not take this medicine if you are also taking astemizole, dexfenfluramine, fenfluramine, terfenadine, or tramadol. Do not take this medicine with, or within 14 days of taking, a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (maoi). Maois include furazolidone, isocarboxazid, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline, and tranylcypromine. If you are currently taking any of the medicines mentioned above, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting this medicine. Before taking Celexa, tell your doctor if you have liver disease, have kidney disease, suffer from seizures, or suffer from mania or have suicidal thoughts. You may not be able to take Celexa, or you may require a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listed above. Do not take Celexa without first talking to your doctor if you have had an allergic reaction to this medication in the past. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using this medicine.
Possible Side Effects
The most common side effect with Celexa is sexual problems in male patients.Some other possible side effects include: nausea, dry mouth, sore throat or fever, sudden onset of a cold sweat, dizziness, fatigue, shakiness, vision changes, confusion, or lack of concern, consult your doctor immediately.
Storage
Celexa tablets should be stored in a dry place at room temperature between 15° and 30°C.
Additional Information
If you experience dizziness, avoid doing any activities. Do not share this medicine with others for whom it was not prescribed. Do not use this medicine for other health conditions. Keep this medicine out of the reach of children and pets. If using this medicine for an extended period of time, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
